Soakin' in the Santa Monica sunshine - Pt.1
I think of myself as a tourist in my own city. In my endless tour of Califonia, I've come to love the westside of L.A. a lot! West Los Angeles is made up of several beautiful cities, including Santa Monica, Venice, Marina Del Rey, Culver City, Westwood, Brentwood, and the Pacific Palisades. Santa Monica has grow to be one of my favorites, after years of working in the city. My friend Erika asked me to meet her out on the westside, one December day last year, so we could go shoot. After picking her up in Brentwood, we headed down to Santa Monica beach to shoot. Our first stop was the Promenade on 3rd St. for a snack and bathroom break. There are a lot of great places to eat and shop, just a few blocks from the beach and pier, at the Santa Monica Mall and 3rd St Promenade. We wandered around the Promenade for a bit before making our way over to the beach to shoot. From the beach, we hit the pier. After which we had to call it a day since Erika had a softball game to get to. We had a blast though, hangin' out and shootin' along the coast that day, before I had to drop her off back at her car. Below are some of my favorite shots from the day for you to check out. Thanks for checkin' out my blog, and check back soon for more of my endless tour of Cali and beyond!

A day in west L.A.
Thanks for checkin' out my blog! A few months back, I took my buddy Erika out to shoot the west side of town, after work. We were working in the Marina that day. So, we took the opportunity to get so nautical captures, once we were done with work, before heading over to the Venice canals. We strolled around the canals for a bit, before shifting into "lurk" mode and finding our way over to Santa Monica. I decided to take Erika up onto a rooftop for some cityscape shots, before moving on to our next location. Then, after my acrophobia therapy on the rooftop, we headed over to Century City for some architectural shots.
It was a great day of shooting and Erika and I had a lot of laughs along the way. All together, we made our way through 7 cities on the west side, before calling it a night and heading home. I think I shot about 200+ images that day, too. But, I'm only going to share my favorite 8, our off the multitude of shots, for now. Check back soon to see more of my beautiful city and for more Bsombin'!

Keon's Captures Pt.1 - Santa Monica Streets
Hello world! Thanks for stoppin' by Bsombin'! ...My little ninja has taken a liking to photography & I have been helping her develop her skills, by giving her "assignments", when we go out places. I've decided to start sharing some of the images she has captured, on her "assignments", with you. This first set is images that were captured while driving around in sunny Santa Monica, California! The "assignment" was to capture some interesting shots of the streets while using focal points to compose the image. Hope you enjoy & come back again soon!
