Knife Party's West Coast Debut!

This past Saturday, Knife Party made their "west coast debut" at the Wiltern Theater, in Los Angeles. ...I've been a fan of Pendulum for a minute now. So, when Knife Party came out this past Summer, I was an instant fan (...Since Knife Party is 2 of the 3 members of Pendulum). When I heard they were coming to L.A., I was stoked! Knife Party has blown up huge since they introduced themselves to the world on BBC's Essential Mix, so the show sold out & the Wiltern was packed! Codes & Kill The Noise opened up for Knife Party, and Knife Party destroyed it once they got on. Here are some pics... Thanks for checkin' out Bsombin.blogspot.com!

Last of the Dub-step mash-ups. ...for now.

When I first started getting into Ska music, back in the early 90's, Hepcat was one of my favorite bands. In fact, Hepcat was one of the first bands I saw live. So, I felt, it was only proper to include them in this mash-up project. This project has been a clash of past & present, for me, more than of genres & styles. It has been very personal to me, because I have use so much music that I relate to special, or intense, moments in my life. A lot of these songs have a lot of sentiment, to me, which is why I have chosen them to be mashed up with my beloved Dub-step music. This Hepcat song ("Miss Congeniality") has that, in more ways than one...

Mashed up love song...

...Almost done with all the tracks for my Sound Clash mix! Most of the tracks are already posted on my Soundcloud, but I have a few that I never shared, so there will be a few surprises on the mix. Enjoy this 90's RnB love song getting a makeover with the help of some epic Dub-step.

A.D.D. November Mix

Thanks for stoppin' by and seeing what's new on Bsombin'! ...For the past few months, I have been spending a lot of time, DJing, with my good friend Freddy Walker. We have been working together to help one another grow more as DJs. What started as just hangin' out and playing records together, for fun, has turned into a partnership. Freddy & I have decided to join forces and start preforming & making music together. It took us a while to come up with a name, but after a lot of thought we decided to call ourselves A.D.D. A Day Dream was the original meaning, but it now stands for several of things. ... As DJs Do; Another Day DJing; Analog Digital Different; etc... Basically it describes the 2 of us and our approach to music & DJing. After deciding on a name, we have started our efforts to promote A.D.D. & play out as DJs. Part of this is having created various online accounts that we can use to push & promote our new collaborative effort. I will be sharing most, if not all, of what I do as one half of A.D.D., from here on out, as long as we continue to work together as A.D.D.. So ,the first thing I'm going to share is a lil' Dub-step mix I made for our new Soundcould page. It's 20min. of Dub-step filth with a little twist at the end. Hopefully you'll give it a listen and enjoy! Please check back soon, for more mixes from myself & Freddy Walker, as well as more art, poems, videos & whatever else I can think of.

More "Sound Clash" Soundclouds

Still trying to find time to work on this mash-up mix/album, but it seems like the only way to get anything done is by depriving myself of sleep. And please share them with anyone you think will be able to appreciate the sounds of my "Sound Clash". Thanks again for visiting Bsombin'!

Bsomb4 February Dubstep mix

My good friend Aldo came through and hooked me up with some vinyl last weekend. I finally got a chance to give it all a listen, last night, and was very pleased with what the homie kicked me down with. So pleased that I had to share it. So I went through the records, added a few tunes I already had, and arranged them all into a nice lil' 30 minute Dubstep workout. It kept me up till 3AM, but who needs sleep when you got great music keepin' you alive!! As they say... Sleep when our dead! Till then, it's no rest for the Wicked... Hope you enjoy Aldo's gift to me me as much as I did. Good lookin' out Aldo, much love Doggie!

Bsomb4's Dec. Dubstep/Drum&Bass mix

Happy Holidays!! Tis the season to give, so I give to you a half-breed mix of Dubstep and Drum&Bass. I tried to run the gambit, with the different styles of both kinds of music, so you get quite a few flavors of each, in this mix. Although, the Dubstep half is pretty much a love story of sorts. I couldn't help but to be drawn to these records, for some reason. So, I arranged them into a "story", if you listen to the lyrics. The Drum&Bass, however, is just all about good DnB! It switches over at about 39 min. From Dubstep to DnB. All together you get 33 records in 66 min. Check back soon, I'll have more mash-ups and images posted over the next few days...

Dis Selecta make dem sounds clash...

Here are a couple of mash-ups I made earlier this year. The first puts Santogold's (or Santigold's, since she changed her name) "Your Voice" against Distance's "Clockwork". Pop vs. Dub-step, soft vs. hard... The second is the Jacksons' "Torture" vs. Joker's "City Hoppers". Once again Pop vs. Dub-step. Hope you enjoy! You can listen to them, and download them if you want to keep them for your self.

End of Summer Dub-step Mix

I got another Dub-step mix to share. I originally made this as my little princess' Birthday mix (...except, for this version, I edited out the part where I wished her a happy Birthday and had a crowd cheering and chanting her name. Everything else is all me, live on the deck, killin' it with vinyl. All my computer does is record my mix, not mix for me. lol). I told her I would make her some mixes for her Birthday, and she asked for a Dub-step mix & a mash-up mix. So, here's the first of 2 mixes I'll be posting, along with some pictures from this past Sunday's B-Day party...

Bumper boats,

arcade games, and a lot more. It was exhausting trying to keep up with the kids on a sugar high, but a lot of fun as well!!

Then it was back home for presents and rest.
