Happy Holidays!! Tis the season to give, so I give to you a half-breed mix of Dubstep and Drum&Bass. I tried to run the gambit, with the different styles of both kinds of music, so you get quite a few flavors of each, in this mix. Although, the Dubstep half is pretty much a love story of sorts. I couldn't help but to be drawn to these records, for some reason. So, I arranged them into a "story", if you listen to the lyrics. The Drum&Bass, however, is just all about good DnB! It switches over at about 39 min. From Dubstep to DnB. All together you get 33 records in 66 min. Check back soon, I'll have more mash-ups and images posted over the next few days...

Here are a couple of mash-ups I made earlier this year. The first puts Santogold's (or Santigold's, since she changed her name) "Your Voice" against Distance's "Clockwork". Pop vs. Dub-step, soft vs. hard... The second is the Jacksons' "Torture" vs. Joker's "City Hoppers". Once again Pop vs. Dub-step. Hope you enjoy! You can listen to them, and download them if you want to keep them for your self.

Finally...

I can't even remember when it was but I think it was sometime at the end of last year when my friend, and fellow artist, Mehdi Bouqua came over and we decided to work on a canvas together. It's been on the back burner for a while now, while I have been working on my portfolio, but tonight I finally finished it. Thanks to Mr. Bouqua for contributing his talents to this piece. My painting, "The Queen of Hearts", has been the "header" on this blog for a good minute. So, I figured, I might as well keep her on here as a permanent post. To keep it fresh, though, I am adding one of my poems to the post...

Coping With Love...
I try to think,
But nothing makes sense;
I try not to feel,
But just make things intense;
Intent & intensions,
Is, and are, to
Fix & heal.
But when I make mention,
Of what it is that I
Think, & feel,

... I move forward in reverse,
Let go as tight as I can,
& improve at making things
Worse.

I live in a world where
Light leaves me in darkness,
The cold burns, &
Hurt helps me heal.
