Butterfly rescue

Thanks for checkin' out the Bsombin' blog! ...I found a butterfly drowning in the pool the other day. ...Had to lend it a hand. In return, it let me take a bunch of pictures of it sitting on a flower, before it flew away...

Askew One - Diaspora & Elliot Francis Stewart - Kneecaps @ Known Gallery

Got a chance to go check out another dope show at the Known Gallery, recently. Two amazing artists... First Elliot Francis Stewart's wood panels, then Askew's plexiglass pieces (photographed at an angle).

A poem about war and a machine made for it.

Without Any Reason

You come disguised
As justice or greed;
Yet you satisfy none
But those who seek to bleed!

With false promises of
Freedom & total power,
Truly, you come to
Enslave, oppress, & totally devour!

You divide wholes into pieces
And leave only ashes & dust,
All for the sake of your
Endless blood lust!

You bring nothing but bad &
Leave nothing that's good,
You confuse all who oppose you
By saying you're misunderstood...

You blind those who lead,
Leaving masses confused,
You kill off the strong and
Leave the meek broken & abused!

No pleasure, no gain,
Just despair and pain...
Most beg you to leave!
...Still, here you remain...

Without Any Right.
So brutal and savage,
So completely inhuman
Without Any Reason...

Goodyear over D.T.L.A.

Poetic moments in life

We made eye contact, just long enough for me to see the depth of her soul and vastness of her beauty, that hectic Spring day. Unfortunately, we were in our separate hurries and had to be on our way without any delay. Although I didn't have the opportunity to say, "that's a gorgeous smile you have on display", I think she knew, what I thought &  felt, by the way... I smiled back.

Onyx

Her onyx eyes were my minds demise;
They held me like stars, in the dark night skies;
Black as midnight, they shined like sunrise;
Without saying words, left me hypnotized...

Now, sadly,though
The only place where I can go
To see their beauty
Is in dreams and memory

...Beauty was enslaved and
Wisdom was left betrayed by
Her onxy...

CicLAvia

The brotha from anotha motha, Jefroe, hit me up this past weekend to see if I wanted to go to the CicLAvia ride that was happening on Sunday. I had never heard of CicLAvia, I just knew we were going to be going for a bike ride with some old friends. What I didn't know was that we would be joined by thousands of other Angelenos! Starting from downtown L.A., a 6 mile strip of Wilshire Blvd. was closed off to motor traffic, so that cyclists could ride their bikes in the street without having to worry about cars. When we got to downtown, there were bicycles everywhere! The streets were filled with people going to the CicLAvia ride. It turned out to be a perfect day for a bike ride too. People from all walks of life, young and old alike, came out to enjoy the sunshine the cycling. We rode the course from D.T.L.A. to Fairfax (where it ended) and back. By the time we got back to downtown, my legs were feelin' it! The hills on the way back turned our leisurely ride into a good workout! It was a great way to spend a Sunday with the homies. Now, I'm looking forward to the next CicLAvia ride! I brought the camera along, for the ride too, and got some captures to share, of course....
