...that's number four-twenty, not hashtag four-twenty. But post 420, here on the blog, either way. With that said, here's a picture and a poem in honor of four hundred and twenty posts over the past 4 and a half years... Thanks for checkin' out the blog. Check back next year for more Bsombin'& have a Happy New Year!!

"Sickened By My Medicine"

I got a crutch made outta of dead vegetation,
...The cloud under my wing assists in elevation,
For all sickness, She's the best medication,
Enabling the "train of thought" to reach new destinations,

Though named depressant, she brings stimulation,
Subtracts from the mind boundary and limitation,
Enters the blood stream by way of inhalation,
...Pardon me, it's time to give a demonstration,

When life's killing me, she's brings reincarnation,
Dimming all my pain as she slows me circulation,
Tolerance insists on higher concentrations,
So the dollars get spent in large denominations,

Though she's a soothing breath of meditation,
Beware, she demands complete &  total dedication,
She'll enslave with her sweet seductive sedation,
& she might make finding her your full time occupation,

Old Painting. New Poem.

"Through The Moon's Queendom"

Below the
Sparkling onxy
Yonder,
I labor through
Cold raven air,
In a
Perishable temple...

Relentlessly
Muscles are strained;
Bones are stressed;
Teeth are gnashed; &
The mind fights to
Find the will to
Push past the want for rest,
So that a soul can climb the
Stairway to heaven
Accomplished in
God's eyes

Ignored go
Sleep's summons, &
Refused are exhaustion's
Commands,
As time drags
This decaying shell through
The moon's queendom,
So that it can
Learn, through her, how to
Shed light
Onto a
Sunless world
As she does

Evoked by
The flame of
Dissatisfaction,
Which burns mind and heart,
I grow;
Push; &
Fight to birth my
Love & passion
On the surface of the sun,
To watch them blossom in the heat,
Then, one day, burn so bright they come to
Blind the stars

Flaskmob Los Angeles

Thanks for checkin' out the blog! I follow a lot of photographers and photography groups on Instagram. One of which is Flaskmob. ...a group from the Bay that puts together Insta-meets for the area's street photographers. Back in August, they organized the first Flaskmob meet in L.A., and I was intent on going. My brotha-from-anotha-mutha, Jefroe, hit me up to see if I wanted go see what's up with the Flaskmob. Worked out perfectly, since I was already planning on heading out to DTLA anyways. I met Froe at his place and after a few blows and dabs, we started out to go find the mob. We lagged and had a hard time finding the mob. Then parking proved to be just as hard to find. By the time we met up with the mob, they had already gone full circle and returned back to the meet's starting point at Pershing Square. As we walked up to the crowd, we met up with our old friend Van Styles. We missed all but the group shots and a few funny antics from the mob, since we got there late. But Froe & I were both set on shooting. We took a minute to hang out with Van, after the mob dispersed, and he suggested a few spots we could go shoot. So we said peace to Mr. Styles, hopped back in the ride, and got on our way. Once we decided to go shoot the bridge to the metro train station that is on the 110 Fwy, we started looking for spots to shoot along the way. A few "gems" were found that night, and I lot of laughs were had, with Froe. We even got to enjoy some ghetto gourmet delights, when we found that the only safe place to park was a tire shop parking lot that doubled as a taco truck spot at night. Lol. It didn't look like the most attractive food option, but the tacos were bangin'!! ...The only down side to the whole night was waking up early to go to work the next day, after getting home at 4A.M. But other than that, an awesome night of "urban exploration". I'm looking forward to the Flaskmob's return to L.A. next month. This time, gonna make sure to get there on time, though. Lol. Despite missing the mob, I still got a lot of good images that night. Here are some of my favorites...

Thanks for stoppin' by the blog & check back soon for more Bsombin'!

A Sunday Poem

"Dear Love,"

I had you and lost you,
Time and time again...
You grew out of stranger,
You grew out of friend,
You grew unexpected
You grew now and then
Then you grew into something
From which I had to mend

Your scars, I still wear them
Though they're hind from site
...Your pleasure in play,&
Your suffer from fight...
So much time left in darkness,
after dancing in light,
At the thought of your return,
Shear panic & fright

If ever reincarnated,
Please be subtle and chose wise
Grow in truth and conviction
To endure through both halves' lives
Grow through feeling and from mind
Not from wanting and through the eyes
Grow closer to your honest paradise
And farthest from your hell's lies

I am afraid to death of what you can do to me.
Since what you did to me made me want to die,
So, for now, not always, I'm saying goodbye
Though I know you'll disagree, since you refuse to reply

A new poem from an old soul

"Solitude And The Ways Of The Glutenous Masochist"

Are destruction and decay's
Understanding of the processes of
Breaking things down
Any less than
My heart's familiarity with
Solitude and the ways of the glutenous masochist,
Who bleeds to hear his arteries scream,
Just to drowned out
Madness & despair's
Chants & promises of
"Forever by
Your side"?!?

NO!
...If measured,
Theirs is a
Fragment of a fraction,
Compared to ours
...A slight breeze on the scales
That pronounce the
Injustice that is
My heart's being sentenced to
Carry these sentiments
It holds for you,
While being
Anchored in your wake.

I inhale hurt & despair and exhale toil,
Drowning in the abyss that was
Dug, and filled, by the
Slothful miser that lives
Under disciplines bridge

Still tangled in the shredded remains of the
Quilt we knitted
With the needles that we
Pulled from each others chests,
I inhale hurt & despair and exhale toil.

But, until the
Madness and melancholy, that you left to guard me,
Find reason to abandon this broken half,
I can not resign from this life of
Solidarity and the ways of the glutenous masochist.

...So long as my heart is in
Your undertow,
I will not retire from this life of
Solitude and the ways of the glutenous masochist.

...As memories made of lead
Pull me deeper into the abyss,
I dedicate myself to a life of
Solitude and the ways of the glutenous masochist.

...Unless, of course,
You can come back
And erase what you
Scribed into my heart's mind
With your lies about tomorrow and the
Yesterdays that you robbed me of

S.F.V. Afternoon Pt.2

Thanks for checkin' out the Bsombin' blog! Some more street photography from Cali, today...

Reposted poetry

Another poem being transplanted to this blog from the Bsombin' Art & Design blog...

"Hiding From The Light"

Starry-eyed dreamer,
Shining in the dark,
Skull houses a broken mind,
Chest holds a faithful heart,
Feeding on the pieces,
Eating all the shattered parts,
Never all there,
Always ready to depart,
Looks hella stupid,
Even though he's so damn smart,
Lives sullen for his craft,
& mastering his art,
Won't slow or pause,
After having made a start,
Having found a cause,
After it all fell apart,
Starry-eyed dreamer,
Shining in the dark...

Morning walk through DTLA

A new poem that I had posted on the new blog.

Thanks for checkin' out Bsombin' blog. I posted a few poems on my new Art & Design blog that I decided to repost here. This is the first repost, along with an old painting to illustrate it...

"Exhausted..."

Waiting...
Like still water
Anticipating
Dawn's majesty
So that it can shine &
Give back
The brilliance
That is cast on to it's
Mirrored surface

Amidst the dark
I long to reflect
Your heart's pride;
Your mind's purpose; &
Your soul's glow

Patiently...
I calm my surface
So as to do justice the
Beams that I would
Catch, &
Shine back, with
Hopes that
I will, not only,
Light up my
Sunshine,
As she does me,
But, to also
Warm her as well
Some how

My coldest,
Darkest,
Deepest depths
Crave your warmth & light
To illuminate & warm the
Beauty that stirs far below
My surface,
In my abyss of
Emotions & thoughts.

As the melancholy
Nights
Sit casting black
On, & into,
Me,
I exercise
Patience & faith
While looking towards
Heaven
To see your
Dawn's break

...I wait,
Exhausted by times
Infliction of solitude and
My dissatisfaction in reflecting
Starlight and moon beams.

...On second thought.

Thanks for checkin' out THIS Bsombin' blog! I put the emphasis on THIS, because there will now be 2 Bsombin' blogs. This blog & the blog on my website...

The blog on my site will focus more on my visual art. ...My painting, illustration, and design. It will also be more of a place for me to teach and share my methods and processes for creating art. This blog will be more about my life in Southern California. So it will basically be more of what I was posting before, (Music, Stories, Poems, & Photography) with less of my art & design. So if you like my poetry and my paintings, make sure to bookmark both blogs! ;)

...It has been several months since my last post here, and I found that I missed this blog. In truth, I haven't been doing any blogging at all recently. I started posting on my new blog, but quickly lost momentum. I was having a bit of a "branding identity crisis." I wasn't happy with the Bsombin' logo and wanted to make some changes to it. But I wasn't sure what to do with it. I stopped posting because I didn't want to watermark anymore images with the old logo. I wanted to wait till I had a new logo designed before continuing to blog.

For a minute, I thought I had a new design I was happy with. But, after watermarking a bunch of images to use on the new blog (and posting some), I changed my mind about that logo. I still have some images with it on them, so you'll see that temporary logo on a hand full of posts as I get back to blogging here on Blogger.

I have already stock piled edited content for my return to Blogger, so there will be a lot of stuff being posted here in the days to come. Thanks for checkin' out Bsombin', please check back soon!

...To start the content procession, here are a few images from one of our father-daughter-doggies light painting session...
