Flames & Ashes

Lifted
On Phoenix wings...
As
Passion burns
To reconstruct
& resurrect
The decomposed
Spirit
That once gravitated
Towards the
Inevitable manifestation
Of the heart's
Deepest desires;
The mind's
Wildest fantasies;
& the soul's
Most sincere wishes

A new moon
Rises
As yesterday's
Ashes are
Carried off by
The
Winds of change.

Sky High Sports

Chloe, Marissa's niece, had her B-Day party at Sky High Sports (The trampoline place) this past weekend. We got an invite, so we rolled out to Camarillo for a whole lot o' jumpin' & bouncin'. I love when I get to act like a little kid while spending time with my little kid! After 10 minutes of trying to keep up with my lil' ninja, I felt more like a senior citizen than a little kid, though. I couldn't have actually been jumping for more than 30-40 minutes, all together, but I was exhausted after the party & sore as hell the next day... Good workout & a great time!

Primitive Demo

Got an invite to a skate demo, from my old homie Andy, this past weekend. He is one of the owners of Primitive, a clothing store/skate shop in Encino, and they had a demo at Skatelab, an indoor skatepark in Simi Valley, this past Saturday. So my little ninja and I jumped in the ride and rolled out to see the homies & watch the pros. "P-Rod", Shane O'neill, Tory Pudwill, Chaz Ortiz, & the Primitive team all put it down! I ran into a bunch of the old homies that I used to skate with (including Jefroe, from At Large Media, who I borrowed a video from to put on this post. Thanks Froe. lol), while we were there, too. It was a real good time. If you're lookin' for some new sneakers, clothes, or a new deck, and are in the SFV, check out the Primitive shop or check them out online...

Dub-step Mash-ups

TGIF!!!! Thanks for checking in with Bsombin'! I'm working on a Dub-step mash-up mix/album. Here are some of the mash-ups I have made so far. I'm still working on making more, and then I'm going to put them all together into a nice long mix, but this will give you an idea of where I'm going with it. Some of these mash-ups are new, the others I had posted once before (prior to coming up with the idea to make a mix/album) so this is a mix of new and old. Hope you enjoy the mash-ups. Please feel free to download them & share them with friends. And don't forget to check back for the final mix which will include mashups that I won't be posting individually.

Los Lakers!

Okay, so they may not have moved on to the finals, but they are still my favorite team in any sport!! ...I was fortunate enough to get to go to one of games last week. I got a call from the homegirl, Marissa, last Monday. She asked how I would like to go to the Laker game with her that night... Of course I said I wanted to go. So, when I got off work, I jumped in the ride and headed out to North Hollywood to meet Marissa. I met her at the Art Institute, where she works, and we walked over to the Metro from there. This was also my first time riding the metro.

We rushed down stairs & got our tickets...

...then we jumped on the train...

...switched trains at 7th...

And, after a quick train ride, we surfaced at the Pico station & walked across the street to the Staple Center.

Finally, we arrived at the Staple Center to enjoy the game...

Went out to the smoking patio, during half time, to get some more pics...

...Then, back in for the second half...

As you all know, we lost the game. I think Jack's expression sums up how all the Laker's fans felt on the way out...

This is were my camera's battery died & I had to switch over to the cell phone to get pics...

The trip home felt a little longer than the trip to the game, but is was a great night none the less. Thanks again Marissa!!!!
