To my uncle...

"The Hands That Shaped Me"

Food for thought,
Fuel to feel,
& promises of Gods love
In return for righteousness

...You fed me when I was famished,
My third eye was found in your souls glow,

Jubilant & juvenile,
You mixed love & wisdom into
My compound, before I began to set...
And, once hardened,
You chiseled the chips off my shoulders &
Inscribed inspiration in my mind,

Then, with your last effort,
You forced me to learn
Forgiving, understanding, & how to let go
...Even your mistakes taught me &
Helped me grow,
Now that you are gone,
I miss you more than even I know.

Tour of L.A. Part 4

Thanks for checkin' out the blog! I've been sharing pictures from a tour of L.A. that I took my friend Erika on. After shooting in Hollywood for a while, we stopped to get a bite to eat at Zankou Chicken, before continuing the tour. With food in gut and drink in bladder, we drove out to DTLA, after finishing a good late night meal. We decided to park in the heart of downtown and walk around to look for shots while we burned of some of the kabob that we ate. First order of business, once we landed, was to find a ladies room, though. This proved to be a bigger task than expected, since we got there around 12A.M. But, we found a little Cafe off Grand that was in the middle of closing, after about 10 minutes of looking. Once focus was regained, we hit the streets and "lurked" till a little past 2A.M.. That's when Erika reminded me that we had to work the next day, so we called it quits for the night. We had a lot of fun that night, found some cool new spots, and both came home with some pretty pictures. These are some of my favorites...

This was the last stop that night, but I have a lot more of the city of angels to share. Check back soon for more images of Los Angeles & more Bsombin'!

Tour of L.A. Part 2

....While we were in Hollyweird, I wanted to show Erika the Spaceship that Emerson College built as their Los Angeles campus. The building is amazing! Unfortunately we weren't been able to get past the security guards at the front desk, so all I can show you are some images of the front of the build. Can you guess where the front door is? Lol

Check back soon, to see more of L.A., as I continue my virtual tour of the city of angels!

Tour of L.A. Part 1

Thanks for checkin' out the blog! A few months back, I started going out and shooting with my friend Erika. We met at work and got to talking about photography. When she told me that she loved to shoot architecture and landscapes, I knew I had a new shooting buddy. She told me she had never shot around L.A., So I invited her to come "lurk" L.A. with me. I took her on a tour or some of my spots around the city and took the opportunity to get to know Both her and the city better. The next few post are from the tour I took Erika on. So, this will be like a little virtual tour of the city of angels. The first set of images are from our first couple of stop in Hollywood. I decided to do some loud and colorful edits for this first part of my tour of L.A....

Check back soon so see more of my tour of L.A.!

Poetry & Motion

"My Light Song"

I will sing my light &
Shine through the black of night
To the deaf, show the sounds of joy,
To the blind, sing the joy of sight

My shine will not mute,
My song can not fade,
For the meek and the broken,
Croon bright and parade,
For the lost and the lame
Glow a luminous serenade,
This song must beam bright,
This loud shine must be played

From now till the reaper,
My light song, I will sing
To lending sound and sight to the needy &,
To bring glory to my king!

Burbank & North Hollywood

Thank for checkin' out the blog! Still gettin' through all the images I collected last year. Thankfully, there are a lot, because I haven't had the opportunity to go out and shoot since December. I think that pause might come to an end tonight though. Got some stuff that I'm working on with the ILUMN8 family, but you'll have to check out the blog on my site to see what we got cookin' in the lab. For now, however, I have some images from the cities of Burbank and North Hollywood to share. Next stop on my picture tour of the city of angels... Hollywood and DTLA. Thanks again for takin' the time to check out the blog! Please make sure to check back soon for more Bsombin'.

Aliens in the City of Angels

Thanks for checkin' out the blog! Some of my alien friends picked me up in their spaceship one night and took me for a ride. They told me they were going to take me into orbit so that I could take pictures of the sunrise from space. Once inside, they gave me a tour and let me take pictures of their ship. Then, they dropped me off on a rooftop in DTLA and made me walk home, as a practical joke. When I got home, they were waiting for me and started crackin' up as I walked in the door. I told them how much I didn't appreciate being left stranded so far from home. They laughed and said, "Our trip home is far! ...What you just walked ain't shit, whiny earthing." So I locked their keys in their spaceship and asked them if there is such thing as AAA on their plant. At first, they tried to jimmy the spaceship door open. But the airtight seal on the door made it impossible. They said they do have "roadside assistance" where they come from but they had left their mobile device inside the ship and couldn't call for help. One of them finally admitted that he used to steal starships and take them for joyrides when he was a kid, before climbing in through the garbage chute and opening the main door. Aside from him, all the aliens thought my rebuttal was pretty funny. ...Until they realized that opening the garbage chute left the entire shipping smelling like alien shit and space trash. Then they got mad and told me that I can't ride in the ship anymore. ...they did let me keep my pictures from that night though...

Poetic affirmations

"Fire In Me"

I am as smoke...

When everything
Around me burns,
I rise above it all

I am as flame...

I do not look for
The light at the
End of the tunnel,
I light the way & will
Lead those who
Can't see
Through the dark

I am as ash...

The greater
The fire burns,
The more I will grow
