One last post for 2013...

Hello world! ...Another new painting titled "Daddy", before we welcome 2014. Thanks again for checkin' out Bsombin'! I wish you all a safe and Happy New Year!!

Getting ready for 2014!

I'm going through making corrections, editing old content, and cleaning up my labels, tags, and meta data, to tighten up the blog. I've been working on the blog all day, trying to get as much done before we enter the new year. I plan on making 2014 a much better year for Bsombin' and this blog. Great things are on the Horizon, for Bsombin. And, I am happy to say that great things are also happening with Kibatsu and Mobizyne! ...I am a very blessed and busy man with a lot on my plate right now. As I'm learning to juggle all the things I have going on, I am getting better at managing my time, energy, and attitude. So, because of this, you can expect this blog to have a lot more new posts in the new year!! Please join me, in the new year, as I continue the story of my "journey", while I "up my street photography game, explore new artistic mediums; medias; and genres, dive back into the music/DJing world, continue on my poetic path, and much more! For now, though, here is a pic of one of my more recent paintings titled "Betta Fish", to wrap up the year. Thanks for checkin' out Bsombin' & I please check back soon!

The Black Mamaba

Hello world! Here are some images of another piece I finished recently, for my "Creatures" series, titled "The Black Mamaba". Yes, I am a Laker fan. But, no, this piece isn't a Kobe tribute. It's a lot more personal than that. It's more to do with how I spent the "year of the snake", having been born in the "year of the snake". I found a quote from a German author by the name of Franz Kaufka, that I felt was perfect for the piece... "The meditation by the serpent was necessary, evil can seduce a man but can not become man." That's all I'm gonna say about the piece, the rest is open to your interpretation... Thanks for checkin' out Bsombin', please check back soon!

Hand style practice

They say practice leads to perfection. ...So, I practice my crafts regularly.

Another day at Runyun Canyon

Thanks for checkin' out Bsombin'! So... I've been slacking big time on my marathon training this year. It's basically gonna boil down to how much training I can get in over the next 2 months that is going to determine how I do in the 2014 L.A. marathon. I'm a little nervous about how my body is going to cope with the intense training that I start this week, but I told too many people that I would run this marathon to be backing out of it now! As I sit here getting mentally prepared for the challenge, I wanted to share some more images from one of my favorite places to train. Please check back soon for more Bsombin' art, photography, poetry, music, and more!

Angels and Muses! ...And what?!?

Here's another piece, titled "...And What?!", from the Angels and Muses series that I am working on. Some new mixed medium work on sheet metal. The piece has an added bonus to it, because it glows in the dark. ...something new I have been experimenting with lately.

"Bee Disciplined"

Hello world! Thanks for checkin' out the blog. Here's another painting I recently finished titled "Bee Disciplined". I painted a bee, on a flower, over the word discipline, as reminder to self to be disciplined. To emphasize the point, I wrote a quote from Jim Rohn, next to the bee, which says,"Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment." Something I try to keep in mind during those long days, on the grind, that drag into long nights. Dreams don't just come true. But, with hard work and discipline, they can. Dream big and work hard! Check back soon for more art, photography, poetry, music, and more!

"Graff-roots" pt.1

I've been drawing since as far back as I can remember! I remember being a little kid and spending hours drawing heros and monsters, eagles and airplanes, designs and letters, and every cartoon character that I loved. When I got into skateboarding, I drew all my favorite companies' logos, my favorite skaters' board graphics, and the skate parks and courses that my friends and I used to dream about (... the types of skateparks and course that you see in the X-games now a days. Lol). But it wasn't until I found graffiti, at the age of 13, that I began to take the things I drew more seriously. Graffiti is what made my hobby into  my passion and the reason I am the artist that I am today. I've been going through a lot of old graffiti pics recently, to post on Instagram, and wanted to share some of them here too. ...BTW, if you'd like to see more of my art and photography, please follow me on Instagram @Bsomb4. Thanks for checking out the blog and check back soon for more Bsombin'!!

Capture Mission #1 Part1

Thanks for checkin' out Bsombin'! My brotha-from-anotha-motha, "Mr. At Last League", and I have started going out on photo adventures. ...or as I like to call them "Capture Missions". We landed in DTLA, late one night last week, for our first mission. We hit the streets on foot and walked around the city looking for captures to share with our followers. Here are some of the pics I got with my compact Canon. Part 2 of this post will be the "celly-captures". Hope you enjoy and check back for more Bsombin'!

Zes & Jon Lake at the Known Gallery

This past Saturday night was the grand opening of The Seventh Letters flagship store in L.A. Although I went, in all the madness, I didn't get any pics from that night that were worth sharing. I did find some images as I was going through my archives, from a show at the Known gallery, from a couple of months ago that I can share, however... The Zeser and Jon Lake show. Zeser was, and still is, an inspiration to me. The guy "kinged" Los Angeles, and did it with style, as a graff artist. Now, he is painting some beautiful canvases and taking some amazing photographs of the City of Angels. Jon Lake has also gone from graff artist to amazing photographer, and has also become an inspiration to me. This is why I was super excited to hear that they were going to have a show together. Here are some of my pics from the show...

Looking back at the Super Moon.

Hi! Thanks for checkin' out the blog. I've been going through my giant archive of images cleaning, organizing, and editing stuff, recently. ...finally. Lol. Decided to share some images that I took, this past summer, of the Super Moon. I was having fun with the shutter speed as planes flew overhead. Looked like lasers in the sky. Hope you like. Please check back soon for more Bsombin'!

The Lord's Sovereignty 1 & 2

I've been getting a lot of art done lately. Here are 2 more pieces, from my "Creatures" series, that I finished not too long ago. The 2 halves represent knowledge and wisdom, strength and power, & love and faith. Together they make the tree of life and the path to heaven.

"Reconstruction Of A Disassembled Angel"

Hi! Thanks for checking out Bsombin'! I've been keeping busy with a lot of projects and am continuing to explore new ways to create art. This is one of my newer pieces, and part of my Angels and Muses series, done in a new style I am working on. This was my second time making one of these pieces, so it is a still a "style prototype". I got a lot of ideas, while I was making this piece, on how to develop this new style. But, for now, this is all I am going to share of it. I will be sharing more of my "prototypes", as we get closer to the new year, and I will begin sharing the more serious pieces in the new year. Please check back for more Bsombin' art, poetry, music, and more!

"La L.A." ...The painting and the poem.

Hi! I finished this piece a few weeks ago, and finally took some good pics of it. It's titled "La L.A." It's also one of the first pieces in a new series of mixed medium/media art, titled "Angels and Muses", that I am working on. I was inspired to write a poem for the piece, as I was working on it. I wrote it on green Post-It notes and glued them on the piece. It's kind of hard to read, even up close, so I'm just going to write it below the image, for those interested in what it say.

...While I'm at it, I'm also going to make her the new header on the blog and website, because I really like how this piece came out! Thanks for checking out the Bsombin! Please check back soon for more art, music, poetry, and more...

"La L.A."

As I look at her skyline,
She pours a
Hard joy into my concrete...

Her sharp solid angles, & shimmering faces,
Cast, & shine, inspiration in empty souls & hollowed spirits,
As she crushes the meek & kills the dreams of many...

She breaks hearts, & mends them,
With her beautiful complexities &,
As the sun sets, each day, the seas serenade her...

She is
The City of Angels
...La L.A.
