Leonardo Da Vinci Exhibition At The Ronald Reagan Library And Museum (09/06/2019) - Room 3 Part 2 & 3

The next two sections on our tour of the Da Vinci exhibition didn't have a lot displayed in them. So I'm going to combine the second and third sections of Room 3 into this one post.

The second section of Room 3 was the musical section. This section had two models of instruments designed by Da Vinci. One was an organ which Da Vinci designed a new twin bellow system for. This allowed the organ to play continuously without pauses.

The second instrument in the musical section was a Musical Cannon. It was basically like a music box on a large scale. An operator would turn the handle on the cannon to rotate the large pipes. Each pipes had metal pins attached to them. And as the pipes rotated, the metal pins were plucked and produced sound that was amplified by the pipes.

In the third section of Room 3, copies of two of Da Vinci's most famous painting were displayed. On one side of the third section was a giant print of the original Last Supper painting. Across from it was a giant print of a restoration of the original painting. And on the wall that lead into the next section was a large print of Da Vinci's "Ladywith an Ermin" painting. I honestly wasn't really interested in looking at the pictures of paintings. So I just snapped a few shots of them and moved on to the final section of Room 3.

The final section of Room 3 had a variety of models and replicas on display including a replica of Da Vinci's Studio. Well see that next on the tour, before going back upstairs to see more flying machines, a self propelling cart, and actual pages from the Codex Atlanticus!
