I knew It approached
...I recognized It's sent
...It's warmth
& the sound
That It makes as It
Creeps into our hearts
I knew It was coming,
& so It came,
To make us play
It's complex game!
First a tickle &
Then a lift,
Then It inspired...
Our worlds to shift;
It inspired our
Arms to hug & lips to kiss;
It inspired our
intimate moments in night's darkness;
It inspired our thoughts &
Inspired our words
It inspired us both
To please & to serve;
To want & to care;
To give & to share;
To look for each other &
To work to be there!
It inspired feelings
That were beyond compare;
It inspired so much
& made one from a pair!
It lead us through smiles,
laughter,
and song;
Through days that were short
& nights that were long;
It lead us to find ways to
right what was wrong,
By teaching us wisdom
while growing us strong!
It lead us on paths
That seemed too lengthy and far;
It lead us, and built us,
To be who we are...
Sadly, though, what I feared
Came to be;
Since I knew
It's complex game was temporary;
It couldn't stay forever
& had to leave eventually;
Yet, I regret nothing
& cherish every memory!!
