Leonardo Da Vinci Exhibition At The Ronald Reagan Library And Museum (09/06/2019) - Room 1

As we continue on our tour of the Da Vinci Exhibition, we move into the first room. There were two large cards on the wall, as we entered, that explained about the Codex Atlanticus. The Codex Atlanticus is a collection of more than 1700 of Da Vinci's sketches. And the work found in Codex was the focus of the exhibition.

Displayed along with the explanation of the Codex Atlanticus was a full sized model of Da Vinci's machine gun. The machine gun was mounted on a large frame with wheels, to make it easier to transport. Since is was so large, it was the only invention displayed in this room. The low lighting made it difficult to take pictures of everything. But I did my best to get shots of the info cards and the model. I also got some close up shots that show the guns on the frame.

The first room was the smallest in the exhibition. But the rest of the rooms had several inventions displayed in them. So things will pick up as we go through the tour. In the next room, we'll see a lot more of Da Vinci's sketches brought to life.
